Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate distributed systems that deploy software to one of the world’s largest server fleets.
- Modernize existing software and tune systems to improve efficiency, cost, performance, and operations at massive scale.
- Build validation, deployment, and observability tooling for S3’s front-end engineering organization.
- Own systems end to end from design through deployment and production operations, emphasizing operational excellence.
- Collaborate with engineers across S3 teams to coordinate feature validation and software delivery.
- Build self-service tools and use AI-assisted development and automated on-call assistants to improve engineering productivity.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- At least 1 year of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 1 year of object-oriented design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
