Base Salary
$150k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop AI-assisted workflows using Crucible’s data, APIs, and domain model to surface insights, answer questions, and support user decisions.
- Integrate optimization, forecasting, and other models into reliable production capabilities with data science and software engineering teams.
- Design and build end-to-end AI systems including model interfaces, retrieval, tool use, orchestration, evaluation, and production services.
- Select and evaluate models based on capability, reliability, latency, security, and deployment constraints.
- Support AI capabilities across cloud, air-gapped, and edge environments.
- Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and product teams to turn operational problems into useful AI features.
- Establish technical patterns, evaluation methods, and engineering standards for applied AI across Crucible.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping production software or ML systems.
- Strong machine learning fundamentals and hands-on experience beyond model API integration.
- Technical ownership of AI/ML systems from experimentation through production, including implementation, architecture, evaluation, and debugging.
- Hands-on experience building production systems with LLMs or other foundation models.
- Strong Python and software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with modern ML frameworks and transformer-based models.
- Experience designing evaluations and monitoring production AI/ML behavior.
- Ability to make technical tradeoffs across model quality, reliability, latency, cost, and system complexity.
- U.S. person required due to ITAR regulations.
- Preferred: experience with open-source models and local model inference.
- Preferred: experience with manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or other operational software.
- Preferred: experience with model fine-tuning, inference optimization, or GPU deployment.
- Preferred: aerospace, defense, robotics, or other complex physical-system experience.
