Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality backend features for Legion’s labor planning and forecasting product.
- Design, build, and support scalable applications and APIs end to end.
- Contribute to feature design, sprint and quarterly planning, design reviews, and code reviews.
- Write unit tests, test features before QA validation, and work with QA on end-to-end and production readiness testing.
- Debug technical problems, resolve bugs within service-level goals, and address requirements ambiguities with stakeholders.
- Make data-driven technical decisions and build robust solutions that improve scalability and performance.
- Demonstrate the Legion product end to end and collaborate with senior engineers, architects, product stakeholders, and QA.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–4 years of experience with backend technologies including Java, Spring Boot, and MySQL.
- 3–4 years of experience building multi-tenant SaaS applications and designing and building APIs.
- At least 3 years of experience delivering software in a cloud-based environment such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Professional software development experience with proficiency in Java or C++ and object-oriented design skills.
- Hands-on experience with Claude, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, including reviewing, testing, and validating AI-generated code.
- Working knowledge of application architecture, design patterns, distributed and scalable systems, and high-volume transaction applications.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including design, planning, implementation, testing, documentation, delivery, maintenance, code reviews, source control, build processes, and operations.
- Ability to own features from design through production and communicate effectively in technical documents and design discussions.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS product and service expertise, frontend experience with JavaScript, Angular, or React, and experience with code-quality tools such as Coverity or SonarQube.
