Responsibilities
- Create new software features and tools from conception through release.
- Design, develop, maintain, and scale software and infrastructure tools running on Akamai’s infrastructure.
- Develop frontend and backend functionality for vulnerability management and engineering productivity.
- Design and optimize multi-platform build systems, including parallelism, build performance, dependency management, and target-architecture support.
- Configure compilers and toolchains and support compilation across ARM and Intel/AMD platforms.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into solutions and contribute to product and process improvements.
- Apply software security, reliability, scalability, compliance, and SLA considerations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Object-oriented programming experience in Python, Java, Go, or C/C++.
- Experience with multi-platform build systems such as CMake, Bazel, Cargo, or Meson.
- Experience configuring GCC/Clang compilers and toolchains.
- Experience with multi-architecture compilation across AArch64, ARMv8, ARMv9, and Intel/AMD platforms.
- Hands-on experience with service-oriented architecture, REST, microservices, databases, and SQL.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as CloudBees CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.
- Understanding of security, compliance, and SLAs.
