Responsibilities
- Design and implement system automation and configuration management using Ansible.
- Build and maintain standardized OS configurations, golden images, and baseline cloud builds.
- Implement and operate Linux patch management and OS lifecycle processes.
- Perform system and VM hardening aligned with enterprise security standards.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of cloud compute resources in GCP and Azure.
- Develop and maintain Python and Bash/Shell automation scripts.
- Manage secure configurations, IAM controls, and access policies.
- Integrate configuration workflows with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve operating system, configuration, and security issues.
- Ensure systems meet security, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Collaborate with cloud and security teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7–10+ years of total experience, including 5–7 years in cloud or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong Linux systems administration experience, including RHEL and Ubuntu.
- Proven experience with Ansible configuration management and automation.
- Strong Python and Bash/Shell scripting skills.
- Hands-on Terraform and CI/CD pipeline experience.
- Experience with containers and Kubernetes, including platforms such as GKE, AKS, and EKS.
- Experience with system patching, OS lifecycle management, and security hardening.
- Experience with at least two of AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Understanding of cloud security, IAM, and compliance requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred: Windows systems and PowerShell experience, cloud networking and VM security knowledge, relevant cloud/Linux/security certifications, and Agile/Scrum experience.
