Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the architectural vision for the Lending Foundations platform across countries, products, and partners.
- Design and scale shared platform capabilities, core services, decisioning primitives, and integration patterns used by multiple lending teams.
- Lead cross-team architectural initiatives and drive alignment on complex technical decisions across engineering squads and stakeholders.
- Apply and refine CQRS and event-driven architecture patterns across shared lending infrastructure.
- Partner with product and business leadership to translate global expansion plans into platform capabilities and roadmaps.
- Mentor senior engineers, support progression toward Staff level, and raise engineering standards through design reviews and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a senior or Staff-level engineer designing and evolving complex distributed systems or platform layers serving multiple product teams.
- Deep experience with event-oriented architectures such as CQRS, event sourcing, and streaming, including trade-off analysis for shared infrastructure.
- Strong background in at least one functional or JVM-based stack.
- Proven ownership of architectural vision for large domains or platforms with evolving requirements and constraints.
- Experience driving alignment on architectural decisions across multiple squads, senior engineers, and technical leaders.
- Experience as a platform-oriented engineer serving engineering and product teams as primary customers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in lending, credit, or financial services platforms is preferred.
- Experience with multi-country or global product environments and large-scale migration or re-platforming initiatives is preferred.
- Familiarity with Clojure, Datomic, Kafka, or similar paradigms is preferred.
