Base Salary

$193k - $290k/yr

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective AWS cloud services, especially serverless and event-driven systems.
Architect and implement production solutions using Lambda, Step Functions, ECS, DynamoDB, S3, and related AWS technologies.
Develop web applications and services spanning frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
Integrate cloud services with internal and external systems through secure and maintainable service interfaces.
Design for operational reliability through error handling, monitoring, and failure recovery.
Diagnose production issues and improve system performance, reliability, usability, and developer experience.
Collaborate with engineers, users, and partner teams to evaluate requirements and technical tradeoffs.
Contribute to technical documentation, engineering standards, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, setup assistance, and expertise for systems and tools.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience in cloud platforms, backend systems, or related fields.
Strong proficiency in Python, including software design, automated testing, and dependency management.
Hands-on experience designing and implementing production systems on AWS.
Experience with distributed, asynchronous, or event-driven architectures.
Experience shipping and supporting at least one production cloud service.
Experience with infrastructure as code, particularly Terraform.
Experience designing and integrating REST APIs or other service-to-service interfaces.
Experience debugging complex systems across multiple services and components.
Strong written and verbal communication and effective cross-team collaboration.
Preferred experience with AWS serverless and container technologies, AWS security and identity, observability, tracing, monitoring, debugging, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, full-stack web applications, internal developer platforms, workflow systems, developer-facing tools, mobile development, and the PlayStation ecosystem.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum is preferred.
