Base Salary
$181k - $271k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive firmware design, implementation, and verification in pre-silicon and post-silicon environments.
- Define and implement CPU power-management solutions for Qualcomm custom CPUs and SoCs.
- Develop and debug drivers, firmware features, boot, RAS, security, debug, runtime services, and interprocessor communication interfaces.
- Collaborate with hardware power-management teams, firmware teams, platform architects, third parties, and other groups on platform enablement and bring-up.
- Contribute to open-source processor architecture, device-driver, and firmware support.
- Help identify skills requirements and participate in hiring engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 6+ years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, a master’s degree plus 5+ years or a PhD plus 4+ years.
- At least 3 years of experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Preferred experience includes 5 years of embedded firmware development and technical leadership.
- Proficiency writing and debugging C and assembly.
- Experience developing drivers in RTOS or OS kernel environments.
- Experience with embedded operating systems such as Zephyr, eCos, uC/OS, or FreeRTOS.
- Experience with pre-silicon simulators and FPGA emulation, interprocessor communication interfaces, and ARMv8 platforms.
- Ability to work independently, make significant decisions, plan complex work, and communicate effectively.
