Base Salary

$142k - $213k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, architect, develop, integrate, test, qualify, and deliver embedded and real-time software products.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle across requirements, design, implementation, integration, qualification, and delivery.
  • Develop multi-threaded software for flight-critical, safety-critical, medical, or mission-critical real-time applications.
  • Develop software for real-time operating systems used in flight and mission-critical systems.
  • Analyze system capabilities and resolve issues involving program intent, requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, integration and test engineers, test automation teams, DevSecOps teams, and systems test teams.
  • Work in Agile Scrum teams across multiple software baselines.
  • Apply software architecture, change control, static and dynamic analysis, integration, testing, debugging, and software administration practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience, or a master’s degree and 6 years, or a PhD and 4 years.
  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with C, C++, and Python.
  • Experience developing multi-threaded software for a real-time flight-critical, safety-critical, medical, or mission-critical application.
  • Experience with at least two of Jira, Crucible, Bitbucket, Subversion, Bamboo, Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, or Coverity.
  • Experience with Agile software development, embedded programming, software integration, and testing.
  • Familiarity with at least two data interfaces, including 1553, 1394, 422, 429, Serial, CAN, Discrete and Analog I/O, Ethernet/IP, or Fibre Channel.
  • Recent proficiency in C++ software architecture, design, implementation, integration, and debugging on VxWorks, Integrity, or Real-Time Embedded Linux.
  • Active in-scope U.S. Government Top Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain initial and upgraded Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) before employment and as required by the company.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, software architecture, embedded systems, hardware interface, and systems architecture skills.
  • Preferred experience with PowerPC or ARM assembly, CPU documentation, code defect identification, software modeling or diagramming tools, OS partitions, isolation architectures, airworthiness certification requirements, layered and event-driven software architectures, static and dynamic code analysis, and recent software change-control and CI/CD tooling experience.
