Responsibilities
- Analyze ML network design trends and determine their implications for hardware and software architecture.
- Characterize AI and ML workloads through simulation and on-device analysis across Qualcomm hardware and software stacks.
- Correlate on-device performance with pre-silicon predictions and tune algorithms for improved performance and power efficiency.
- Analyze enterprise AI workflows and propose on-device Snapdragon AI PC components that complement enterprise cloud AI systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver performant reference implementations, tools, and documentation for third-party developers.
- Develop and propose features and system designs for next-generation SoCs that reduce workflow performance bottlenecks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience; or a master's degree with 7+ years; or a PhD with 6+ years.
- 15+ years of experience in high-performance computing system engineering or software, including 5+ years in AI system optimization.
- Strong understanding of AI frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, GPU/NPU programming, parallel computing, and complete software stacks.
- Experience optimizing AI applications on Windows using processor-specific optimization tools, libraries, and primitives for GPUs and NPUs.
- Strong background in end-to-end system performance analysis, profiling tools, and algorithmic performance improvement methods.
- Knowledge of computer architecture, embedded system implementations, agentic AI, and AI domains including computer vision, audio, generative AI, and foundational models.
- Strong software engineering principles and proficiency in Python and C++.
- Strong communication, leadership, analytical, debugging, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is listed as a preferred qualification.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, version control systems, and agile project management practices.
