Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain production-grade custom Onshape features in FeatureScript.
- Extend Onshape workflows through Onshape APIs and integrations with external systems.
- Expand the capabilities and uses of the modeling MCP built on Onshape APIs.
- Partner with design engineers to discover workflow pain points, deliver solutions, integrate them into daily work, and iterate on them.
- Build automation incorporating MEP constraints and supporting device and fixture placement.
- Develop automated code-compliance checks for requirements such as outlet placement, egress, and tempered windows.
- Collaborate across architecture, robotics, design engineering, software, factory operations, and field delivery to improve design and manufacturing efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering or computer science.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with parametric design using tools such as Onshape, Autodesk Fusion, or SolidWorks.
- Experience building custom features in Onshape with FeatureScript.
- General coding experience, ideally in Go, Python, or C#.
- Experience using coding agents to build prototypes and rapidly develop solutions.
- Experience with the Onshape API or building integrations and apps beyond FeatureScript is preferred.
- General software engineering experience with automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring and alerting, debugging, and root cause analysis is preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, DFMA, or a hardware product setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with CAD-to-fabrication workflows, including CAM and CNC, is preferred.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
