Base Salary
$120k - $170k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services and APIs from scratch.
- Develop distributed systems with scalability, latency, reliability, and fault-tolerance requirements.
- Own services end-to-end from design and implementation through deployment and operations.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code using sound object-oriented design and design patterns.
- Work with multi-threaded, event-driven, messaging, and pub-sub systems.
- Debug production issues and improve system resilience over time.
- Apply caching, batch processing, data pipelines, logging, monitoring, observability, and security fundamentals.
- Collaborate with globally distributed teams and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Java and Python for backend application development.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience building scalable REST APIs and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with multi-threaded and event-driven systems, messaging, and pub-sub architectures.
- Knowledge of Spring Framework, dependency injection, AOP, transaction management, databases, caching, connection pooling, and resource management.
- Understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, data structures, security fundamentals, logging, monitoring, and observability.
- Experience with unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, ownership, and collaboration skills.
- Practical understanding of batch processing and data pipeline technologies is a plus.
- Experience with BDD testing frameworks and tools is nice to have.
