Responsibilities
- Build extremely large-scale platform products and services used by Roku engineers and consumers across millions of devices
- Collaborate with Product and Design teams to take concepts from ideation through production deployment and support
- Lead evaluation of new technologies and promote best practices across the software development lifecycle
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Participate in scoping, technical design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance
Requirements
- Strong software development experience, preferably in Java; Python experience is a plus
- Expertise building large-scale cloud services, ideally using AWS
- Experience selecting appropriate data stores and evaluating trade-offs
- Experience with in-memory caching layers such as Redis, Redis Cluster, or Memcached
- Track record monitoring deployment quality and troubleshooting production systems
- Strong understanding of end-to-end web architecture from end-user devices to data-center services
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
