Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-performance cloud-native backend systems using Python and microservices architecture.
  • Evaluate and recommend AWS or GCP cloud services and architectural patterns for scalability, reliability, and cost objectives.
  • Create and maintain system diagrams, API specifications, architectural documentation, and design decision records.
  • Lead technical design reviews and contribute to platform architecture evolution.
  • Implement RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Develop and maintain Kafka data pipelines for real-time streaming and Redis caching solutions.
  • Build persistence layers using Cassandra and PostgreSQL.
  • Integrate IoT devices and building-automation protocols to collect and process telemetry data.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize systems for performance, reliability, and observability.
  • Participate in code reviews, mentor team members, and collaborate with product, data science, and mechanical engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of backend development experience with Python.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and REST-based APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP cloud services and cloud architectural patterns such as serverless, event-driven, and container-based deployments.
  • Proficiency with Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and Redis.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and independent-working skills with attention to scalability, security, and operational concerns.
  • Full professional proficiency in both French and English.
  • Preferred qualifications include building automation, HVAC controls, smart-building technologies, IoT protocols, edge computing, multi-cloud or hybrid architectures, Docker, Kubernetes, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, energy management, sustainability, technical mentoring, and AWS or GCP certifications.
