Base Salary
$189k - $303k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, customization, and maintenance of Board Support Packages for multiple hardware platforms using the Yocto Project.
- Configure, build, and optimize Linux kernels, U-Boot bootloaders, and root file systems for custom hardware.
- Develop, port, and debug Linux device drivers for PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and USB interfaces.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers during board bring-up and debug issues at register and schematic levels.
- Implement PCIe functionality involving DMA, memory management, and interrupt handling.
- Work with BIOS/UEFI configurations and integrate them with embedded Linux environments.
- Optimize embedded-device performance, boot time, memory footprint, and power consumption.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows for embedded software.
- Create requirements and design documentation, conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and develop unit test plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of hands-on embedded Linux development experience with system-level programming and board bring-up.
- Deep expertise in the Yocto Project, including custom layer development, BitBake recipes, and image generation.
- Strong proficiency in C and C++ for embedded and kernel-level development.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux kernel internals, memory management, scheduling, and device-driver architecture.
- Hands-on experience with GDB, JTAG, Lauterbach, and oscilloscopes.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with secure boot, OTA updates, and system security hardening is desirable.
- Open-source contribution experience, networking knowledge including TCP/IP and UDP, RTOS knowledge, and telecommunications or GNSS domain knowledge are desirable.
