Base Salary
$143k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive firmware architecture for ANC, compute, and SoC infrastructure silicon libraries.
- Influence microarchitecture decisions with silicon architects during specification and design.
- Lead firmware strategy across multiple silicon generations and platform programs.
- Develop C/C++ firmware libraries, frameworks, and APIs for compute engines, ANC subsystems, DMA engines, and related IP blocks.
- Lead first-silicon bring-up, debugging, root-cause analysis, verification requirements, and test planning.
- Drive cross-team initiatives across firmware, silicon architecture, software, security, validation, and system integration.
- Represent firmware technical direction in architecture and leadership reviews.
- Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural review processes.
- Guide engineers across experience levels in their technical and professional growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred experience of 12–15+ years in firmware, embedded systems, or SoC development.
- Experience leading complex silicon or firmware programs and owning production-quality firmware architecture, development, and delivery.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
- Experience with CPU and accelerator architecture, ARM/RISC architectures, on-chip interconnects, boot loaders, platform initialization, and silicon abstraction layers.
- Experience with network controllers, high-performance compute subsystems, silicon bring-up, firmware debugging, and debug tools.
- Experience with emulation and FPGA platforms, Azure hardware platforms, AI accelerator silicon, confidential computing, security firmware, telemetry, and firmware performance optimization.
- Experience with Zebu, HAPS, Palladium, or Veloce emulation platforms and RAS, reliability, and serviceability architecture.

- Base pay is listed for U.S. locations, with separate ranges for the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.
