Responsibilities

Design and build production-grade AI/ML systems, including LLM-powered applications, predictive models, and intelligent automation.
Own the full AI engineering lifecycle from prototyping and evaluation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
Build reusable retrieval pipelines, evaluation frameworks, prompt and version management, and MLOps tooling.
Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to identify and deliver high-impact AI use cases.
Translate ambiguous business problems into scoped technical solutions and communicate trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Establish best practices for testing, evaluation, observability, cost management, and responsible AI deployment.
Mentor engineers and help raise the team’s technical standards for applied AI.

5+ years of software or data engineering experience, including at least 2+ years building and shipping AI/ML systems in production.
Strong Python programming skills and comfort with SQL, including experience building reliable and well-tested services and pipelines.
Hands-on experience with at least one of LLM application development, classical ML/predictive modeling, or ML platform/MLOps engineering.
Practical experience with cloud data platforms, preferably GCP/BigQuery, or AWS/Azure, and modern data tooling such as dbt or Airflow.
Understanding of AI/ML system design trade-offs involving latency, cost, evaluation, data quality, and failure modes.
Strong communication and documentation skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
A pragmatic, product-minded approach to moving from ambiguous problems to shipped solutions.
Experience with Anthropic or OpenAI APIs, vector databases, or agentic frameworks is a plus.
Background in e-commerce, marketplace, or retail data domains is a plus.
Experience in bilingual English/Vietnamese or Southeast Asian regional environments is a plus.
Familiarity with data governance, experimentation frameworks, or responsible AI practices is a plus.
