Responsibilities
- Define and drive technical strategy across multiple consumer payments areas and market-specific growth initiatives.
- Write scalable, maintainable code and design architecture for critical, ambiguous system components.
- Lead technical consensus and strategy alignment with Directors, PMs, UX, TPMs, and globally distributed engineering teams.
- Establish team-wide policies for verifying, securing, and maintaining AI-generated code.
- Provide technical oversight across multiple concurrent workstreams as an organization-level technical lead.
- Mentor senior engineers, establish high engineering standards, and conduct design and code reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Eight years of experience programming in Java, Go, C++, Python, or equivalent codebases.
- Eight years of experience designing, building, and operating scalable backend distributed systems, microservices architectures, or high-throughput APIs.
- Six years of experience leading the strategy, execution, and launch of multi-quarter software engineering projects.
- Six years of experience with software architecture and driving technical consensus among globally distributed stakeholders.
- Experience leading technically across multiple concurrent teams or domains while contributing code.
- Experience with consumer payments, eWallets, A2A or instant payment networks, or global card networks is preferred.
- Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency, highly available distributed systems with compliance requirements is preferred.
- Experience with product growth engineering, conversion-funnel optimization, and user-acquisition workflows is preferred.
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and establishing team-wide engineering practices is preferred.
