Base Salary
$170k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deliver AI and ML capabilities that generate insights on the PitchBook Platform.
- Design, build, deploy, and optimize production AI/ML models and services for NLP, summarization, semantic search, classification, and prediction.
- Build models using classifiers, transformers, LLMs, and other NLP techniques, and integrate them into AI/ML infrastructure.
- Develop scalable, high-performance systems meeting production reliability and efficiency standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, data collection teams, data scientists, and other partners to align models with product and business goals.
- Explore GenAI, NLP, and search technologies and translate research findings into practical solutions.
- Contribute to model transparency, monitoring, evaluation, compliance, security, data integrity, and responsible AI practices.
- Mentor peers, share knowledge, participate in code and design reviews, and support candidate evaluation and onboarding.
- Contribute to documentation, pairing, knowledge sharing, and efficient model development and deployment practices.
- Participate in company initiatives and projects as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- At least 6 years of software engineering or machine learning engineering experience focused on AI/ML applications in insight generation, summarization, semantic search, and prediction.
- Hands-on expertise in NLP, classifiers, transformer models, LLMs, and ML/data science libraries including scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Experience delivering production-grade GenAI or LLM-based systems with measurable business impact.
- Familiarity with LangChain, LangSmith, and LangGraph; production experience is a strong plus.
- Deep proficiency building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and distributed systems using Apache Kafka, Airflow, and Snowflake.
- Strong Python and SQL skills; Java or Scala experience is a plus.
- Experience with cloud-native development, containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems, contribute to architecture decisions, and deliver high-performance, reliable solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in globally distributed, cross-functional teams.
- Experience in fast-paced, data-driven environments; fintech or financial data platform experience is advantageous.
- Peer-reviewed AI/ML research paper authorship and participation in the AI research community are strongly preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
