Responsibilities
- Design and govern scalable SAP ABAP and SAP BTP architectures aligned with enterprise standards.
- Develop SAP ABAP workflow solutions for approvals, notifications, exception handling, event handling, agent determination, and custom tasks.
- Configure and optimize SAP BTP subaccounts, entitlements, destinations, security artifacts, users, roles, transports, and connectivity.
- Create reusable, maintainable SAP ABAP programming components with optimized data access, modular structures, performance tuning, and robust error handling.
- Integrate SAP BTP services with on-premise systems, cloud services, and external APIs using reliable interfaces, data contracts, and error-handling patterns.
- Implement monitoring and observability using logs, metrics, and alerts across SAP BTP and ABAP landscapes.
- Review existing implementations for performance bottlenecks, architecture gaps, security risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Translate business requirements into practical technical designs and collaborate with functional experts and stakeholders.
- Conduct technical reviews and quality checks for ABAP code, workflow logic, and BTP configurations.
- Troubleshoot complex SAP ABAP and SAP BTP issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare technical documentation for workflows, programs, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Mentor teams and drive adoption of relevant SAP BTP capabilities, ABAP enhancements, and tooling.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in SAP ABAP workflow design, including event handling, agent determination, and custom task development.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP BTP administration, including user and role management, transport handling, connectivity setup, and environment optimization.
- Solid SAP ABAP programming fundamentals covering modularization, performance tuning, data dictionary design, and error handling.
- Practical experience integrating SAP BTP with on-premise systems, cloud services, and external APIs.
- Ability to analyze complex SAP landscape issues and propose pragmatic, high-impact solutions.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills for explaining technical concepts and aligning solution decisions.
- Ability to work effectively across onsite and remote collaboration settings.
- SAP Certified Development Specialist ABAP for SAP HANA or SAP Certified Development Associate ABAP certification required.
- SAP BTP-related certification preferred.
