Responsibilities
- Design, automate, and operate secure, scalable, highly reliable cloud-native data platforms across multi-account and multi-region AWS environments.
- Develop and manage advanced Terraform Enterprise modules, workspace strategies, remote state, policy-as-code, testing, migrations, and cross-repository dependencies.
- Engineer AWS infrastructure using S3, IAM, KMS, Lambda, Glue, Athena, CloudWatch, EventBridge, Step Functions, Lake Formation, and Glue Data Catalog.
- Administer and optimize Databricks, Unity Catalog, Snowflake, dbt, and Astronomer/Airflow data platforms.
- Build Python automation, Lambda workflows, API integrations, configuration management, self-healing, automated recovery, and remediation workflows.
- Design GitLab CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security scanning, artifact management, approval gates, GitOps promotion, secrets management, and multi-environment deployments.
- Manage SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, error budgets, capacity planning, incident response, root-cause analysis, post-incident reviews, runbooks, monitoring, logging, tracing, and anomaly detection.
- Support data governance, security, compliance, disaster recovery, high availability, performance optimization, and cost control.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of professional experience is required.
- 5–7+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, DataOps, or Platform Engineering.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Terraform and AWS-based data platforms.
- At least 2 years of experience with at least two of Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Immuta, or Astronomer/Airflow.
- Advanced Terraform module development and experience with multi-account and multi-region infrastructure deployment.
- Experience with AWS cloud engineering, private networking, cross-account access, disaster recovery, high availability, security, governance, compliance, and cost optimization.
- Experience administering Databricks and Snowflake and working with Unity Catalog, MLflow, dbt, Apache Iceberg, and Bronze/Silver/Gold data architectures.
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, Pandas, API integration, and automation of operational activities.
- Experience architecting GitLab CI/CD pipelines and applying DevOps, GitOps, secrets management, testing, and deployment controls.
- Experience with SRE, observability, incident management, operational runbooks, performance optimization, and automated recovery.
