Responsibilities

  • Own government-client data migrations end-to-end, including source-system discovery, schema mapping, ingestion configuration, validation, dry runs, and production delivery.
  • Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, unsafe records, and edge cases, making and documenting judgment calls within defined constraints.
  • Lead customer calls and explain data requirements, constraints, and tradeoffs to non-technical government stakeholders.
  • Use internal tools, templates, and playbooks to make migrations more predictable, repeatable, and efficient.
  • Document recurring migration issues and partner with Product and Engineering on tooling, platform, and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Require 2–4 years of hands-on experience in data migrations, ETL/ELT, technical implementations, or a closely related role involving messy production data.
  • Require day-to-day ability to read, debug, and ship changes through pull requests in a Python codebase, ideally involving Airflow DAGs, ingestion jobs, or migration utilities.
  • Require strong practical SQL skills for analysis, validation, reconciliation, and transformation.
  • Require experience converting ambiguous stakeholder requirements into concrete, testable migration or implementation plans.
  • Require a track record of high-ownership, execution-focused work where correctness and customer trust are important.
  • Prefer experience with Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or similar workflow orchestration and pipeline operations, including logs, safe reruns, and large backfills or imports.
  • Prefer customer-facing implementation or onboarding experience, familiarity with geospatial data or GIS tooling such as ArcGIS, B2B SaaS experience, and close partnership with Product and Engineering teams.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary, equity or stock options, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and a 401(k) program.
  • Hybrid work arrangement with at least 3 days per week in person at the New York City office and flexibility to work remotely.
