Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and support high-performance Java applications and reusable React frontend components.
- Develop SQL queries and integrate relational databases such as DB2 or Oracle.
- Build microservices and REST APIs, and work with RabbitMQ or IBM MQ messaging systems.
- Write automated unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.
- Participate in requirements analysis, design discussions, code reviews, documentation, demos, and acceptance discussions.
- Identify technical risks and address application performance, security, availability, and maintainability concerns.
- Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including implementation, deployment, and production support.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of overall professional experience.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent professional IT qualification.
- Professional Java development experience, preferably with Java 17 and at least Java 8.
- Strong knowledge of Spring Framework 6 and Spring Boot 3.
- Hands-on experience with TDD, BDD, JUnit, and Mockito.
- Frontend development experience with React JS and JavaScript.
- Experience with DB2 or Oracle, RESTful API design, microservices, RabbitMQ or IBM MQ, Maven, Docker, Jenkins, and Git.
- Understanding of secure coding standards such as OWASP, CWE, and SEI CERT.
- Broad IT project experience, enterprise systems architecture knowledge, and strong analytical, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Exposure to Apache Camel, banking or payments, JIRA, HP ALM, Agile/Scrum, and automation testing frameworks is preferred.
