Sr Software Engineer
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services and data pipelines for an AI Context Layer supporting LLM applications.
- Implement, update, and query domain ontologies and taxonomies using RDF, OWL, and SPARQL.
- Integrate graph databases such as Neo4j and AWS Neptune for semantic search and relationship mapping.
- Build and optimize hybrid retrieval and RAG pipelines combining vector search with structured graph data.
- Create data ingestion and processing scripts that extract entities and relationships from enterprise data sources.
- Collaborate with ML engineers, data scientists, and backend developers to integrate semantic components into production AI products.
- Write clean, testable, and well-documented code.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of software development experience, including 1–2 years working with data-heavy applications, NLP, vector search, or semantic and graph technologies.
- Strong backend development skills in Python and/or Java or TypeScript.
- Experience with relational databases and exposure to NoSQL, vector databases, or graph databases such as Neo4j.
- Familiarity with knowledge graphs, vector embeddings, prompt engineering, or RDF/OWL semantic web standards.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
