Base Salary
$99k - $163k/yr
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis, design, development, configuration, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, documentation, health monitoring and alerting, and implementation for assigned systems.
- Contribute to the BSI Cyber Scan platform across Elixir, Python, JavaScript/React, PostgreSQL, and AWS codebases.
- Analyze, assess, and resolve defects and incidents of intermediate complexity, escalating issues appropriately.
- Define technical requirements, conduct impact analysis, decompose work into small batch releases, and deliver at a steady pace.
- Work independently on well-scoped problems, participate in team trade-off discussions, and expand technical knowledge.
- Document work clearly, communicate with team members, and use AI coding assistants in everyday engineering work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent education and/or work experience.
- Two additional years of software engineering experience.
- Experience with Elixir or another functional/actor-model language is strongly preferred, and willingness to learn Elixir is required.
- Comfort working across Elixir, Python, and JavaScript/React in a single product ecosystem.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services such as Lambda, S3, and RDS, or equivalent services.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, including diagnosing issues in unfamiliar code or systems.
- Exposure to gRPC or Protocol Buffers is helpful but not required.
- Ability to communicate clearly, document work, clarify requirements, and receive constructive feedback.
