Base Salary
$172k - $245k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction across the team’s portfolio and serve as the escalation point for complex technical decisions.
- Lead the architecture and resolution of the team’s hardest technical problems.
- Guide and mentor software engineers on technical and architectural decision-making without formal management responsibility.
- Collaborate with technical leaders across teams to resolve cross-cutting problems and drive decisions forward.
- Review important designs and code while remaining hands-on and technically credible.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Extensive hands-on software engineering experience with a record of making durable architectural decisions.
- Deep expertise in software design, architecture, implementation, and scale sufficient to defend optimized technical designs.
- Experience guiding or mentoring engineers on technical and architectural decisions without formal management responsibility.
- Fluency in AI-native software development practices.
- Preferred: experience with security tools such as product or application security, threat intelligence, or compliance and governance.
- Preferred: experience designing APIs, tools, or services used directly by AI agents, such as MCP servers or function/tool interfaces.
- Preferred: experience establishing AI-native practices for an AI-native software engineering team.
