Responsibilities
- Lead complex, ambiguous projects end-to-end across multiple stakeholders and engineers
- Identify problems, shape solutions, and drive execution with a high degree of ownership
- Collaborate with teammates across the UK, US, Canada, and Israel using async-first practices
- Contribute to cross-cutting engineering initiatives and shared product primitives
- Balance business priorities, user experience, and long-term technical sustainability
- Raise standards for code quality, system design, and operational excellence
- Help shape Vanta’s engineering culture as part of a distributed team
Requirements
- 7+ years of full-stack experience with strong backend expertise
- Experience leading large, cross-functional projects from scoping through delivery
- Ability to work with high ownership and self-direction, including as the only engineer in a location
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in distributed, async-first environments
- Track record of building user-facing SaaS products for startup and enterprise customers
- Experience building 0-to-1 products and scaling and evolving systems in fast-paced environments
- Curiosity and sound judgment in using AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact
- Experience with TypeScript and GraphQL is a plus
