Base Salary
$200k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop high-performance, scalable, and maintainable API endpoints.
- Collaborate with front-end engineers to build dynamic, responsive, user-centric web applications.
- Define data models and database schemas and manage relational or NoSQL databases.
- Direct and govern AI coding agents across the software delivery lifecycle.
- Design agent workflows using Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, and the AI-native development framework.
- Configure prompt-engineering patterns, structured output schemas, rules, and guardrails.
- Trace, debug, and triage agent tool calls, prompt failures, and unexpected outputs.
- Maintain comprehensive architecture, design, configuration, and maintenance documentation.
- Provide task estimates and delivery timelines for sprint planning and execution.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to production issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote AI-native engineering practices.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience working with medium or large complex codebases.
- Experience in full-stack development and REST API design and implementation.
- Experience with one or more of Java, Go, or Python.
- High proficiency in HTML, CSS, the JavaScript ecosystem, and familiarity with React, Angular, Ember, Jest, Babel, and TypeScript.
- Knowledge of UI/UX design principles.
- Demonstrated proficiency using Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot as a primary delivery vehicle.
- Working knowledge of prompt engineering, context management, and structured output patterns.
- Familiarity with agent development concepts including tool use, function calling, approvals, and workflow chaining.
- Awareness of secure AI coding practices including prompt injection, sandbox basics, and access control.
- Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and independent-working skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or at least three years of proven experience in lieu of a degree.
- Preferred experience includes database management, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, React best practices, DevOps practices, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, BMad Method, MCP, A2A concepts, agent skill configuration, LLM evaluation, prompt-chain debugging, hallucination reduction, prompt caching, model fallback strategies, and Agile methodologies such as SAFe and Scrum.
