Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain orchestrator and specialist-agent architectures with retrieval, tool use, structured outputs, and multi-step reasoning.
  • Design retrieval and grounding for RAG and semantic search, including embeddings, reranking, evidence citations, and hallucination reduction.
  • Integrate AI agents with internal and external tools and APIs to perform actions.
  • Build APIs, user interfaces, and full-stack experiences for AI-powered search, chat, and workflows.
  • Instrument AI features for quality, safety, reliability, latency, token usage, and cost, and use results to guide iteration.
  • Iterate on prompts, model choices, fallback behavior, and evaluation approaches for nondeterministic systems.
  • Apply engineering practices including automated testing, code review, CI/CD, monitoring, security, performance work, and on-call ownership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience delivering enterprise technology solutions.
  • At least 8 years of professional full-stack software development experience.
  • End-to-end experience building RAG or agentic systems involving retrieval, tool calling, structured outputs, multi-step reasoning, and verification or evaluation loops.
  • Experience designing evaluations using curated datasets, automated metrics, human review, and production feedback.
  • Experience establishing AI observability for quality, safety, reliability, latency, token usage, and cost.
  • Working knowledge of AI security and responsible-use risks, including prompt injection, tool abuse, data leakage, access control, and model limitations.
  • Deep hands-on programming experience with Node, TypeScript, and React.
  • Experience with modern frameworks such as NextJS or NestJS.
  • Experience building RESTful and GraphQL APIs and working with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Comfort with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and deployment infrastructure.
  • Preferred experience with retrieval-augmented generation, semantic search, embeddings, reranking, grounding, citations, and evaluation.
  • Preferred experience with agent platforms such as LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI, vector databases, and multi-agent orchestration.
  • Working familiarity with Python, Databricks, Unity Catalog, and lakehouse or data-catalog concepts.
  • Experience shipping an internal AI product from scratch in a small, fast-moving team.
