Responsibilities
- Own solution strategy, technical direction, delivery outcomes, quality, business value, risks, adoption, and executive communication for assigned customer engagements.
- Serve as the primary customer-facing solution leader and heavy-industrial domain expert from problem definition through production deployment and scale.
- Identify and quantify opportunities involving reliability, maintenance, production performance, throughput, yield, quality, energy efficiency, and operating economics.
- Translate engineering and operational challenges into AI, machine learning, optimization, and software requirements with measurable success criteria.
- Lead use-case definition, requirements gathering, solution architecture, application configuration, validation, deployment, user adoption, and scale-out.
- Lead Forward Deployed Engineers, data scientists, product managers, engineers, and industry experts toward customer outcomes.
- Work with customer engineers, operators, reliability teams, maintenance organizations, and executives to validate requirements, workflows, performance, and impact.
- Interpret industrial data such as process signals, equipment attributes, operating states, maintenance history, production information, alarms, and quality data.
- Partner with product management and engineering to develop reusable capabilities and scale successful solutions across assets, facilities, and business units.
- Support sales opportunities, statements of work, deployment plans, demonstrations, and customer and industry forums.
- Develop repeatable industry methodologies, solution patterns, and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; preferred backgrounds include Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Mining, Metallurgical, Petroleum, or Materials Engineering.
- At least 7 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, reliability, maintenance, industrial technology, or technically focused consulting.
- Hands-on experience working in an integrated steel mill with exposure across BF, BOF/BOP, caster, HSM, and/or cold rolling or finishing operations.
- Experience owning or improving throughput, yield, scrap, quality, energy, downtime, line balance, bottleneck removal, equipment reliability, production performance, or maintenance effectiveness.
- Deep experience in one or more asset-intensive industries and strong understanding of industrial equipment, production processes, process controls, maintenance practices, and operational workflows.
- Experience with industrial data, including sensor and time-series data, equipment states, alarms, maintenance history, production data, laboratory or quality information, equipment hierarchies, and engineering data.
- Experience with industrial systems such as process historians, SCADA, DCS, MES, EAM/CMMS, ERP, advanced process control, or industrial analytics platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate whether analytical and AI-driven recommendations are physically, technically, and operationally credible.
- Experience leading complex, customer-facing technical engagements with engineering, operational, and executive stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with software engineers, data scientists, product managers, and customer technical teams and translate among domain, business, and technical requirements.
- Preferred: experience delivering AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, optimization, predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, process optimization, or industrial digital transformation solutions.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with industrial data, SQL, Python, analytics tools, application configuration, scripting, or similar technologies.
- Preferred: experience taking solutions from proof of value through production deployment and scaling across assets, plants, facilities, or business units.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
- Ability to travel to customer locations as required.
