Responsibilities
- Bring artists’ and designers’ visions to life through gameplay code.
- Design and write code that runs and controls the game, including custom code and adaptations of existing libraries.
- Prototype new mechanics and improve existing mechanics.
- Create technical designs for gameplay systems.
- Develop tools and workflows for new game features.
- Develop shareable code with EA’s proprietary engine and correctly interface with the engine.
- Debug gameplay systems and improve the performance of gameplay algorithms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.
- Proficiency with C++ and experience with object-oriented design and implementation.
- Experience architecting and implementing AI, character control, multiplayer, or other gameplay-related systems.
- Knowledge of good software programming practices.
- Understanding of multithreaded architectures and synchronization principles.
- Excellent debugging experience using debugging tools.
- Understanding of gameplay-system and algorithm performance implications and how to improve them.
