Responsibilities
- Bring artists’ and designers’ gameplay vision to life through software implementation.
- Design and write code that runs and controls the game, including custom code and adaptations of existing libraries.
- Prototype new gameplay mechanics and improve existing mechanics.
- Create technical designs for gameplay systems.
- Develop tools and workflows for producing new game features.
- Work with EA’s proprietary engine to develop shareable code and interface correctly with the engine.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.
- Proficiency with C++ and experience with object-oriented design and implementation.
- Experience architecting and implementing AI, character control, multiplayer, or other gameplay-related systems.
- Knowledge of sound software programming practices.
- Understanding of multithreaded architectures and synchronization principles.
- Strong debugging experience using debugging tools.
- Understanding of gameplay-system and algorithm performance implications and optimization techniques.
Benefits
- British Columbia base salary range of $122,300-$170,700 CAD, depending on location.
- Three weeks of vacation per year to start and 10 days of sick time per year in Canada.
