Base Salary
$185k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end from technical design through launch to metric readout.
- Design and build scalable backend systems for growth loops and onboarding infrastructure.
- Lead the instrumentation strategy for new features to measure impact.
- Drive A/B experiments by defining hypotheses and analyzing results.
- Raise the team's technical bar through rigorous code reviews and documentation.
- Partner with product and data teams to define success metrics before building.
- Identify systemic gaps and advocate for improvements to increase team velocity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with a track record of impactful features.
- Deep proficiency in Python and experience with production systems at scale.
- Strong command of relational databases like MySQL and experience with high-traffic workloads.
- Production experience with NoSQL and high-performance data stores such as DynamoDB or Redis.
- Experience with Kafka or similar distributed messaging systems.
- Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and cloud reliability considerations.
- Hands-on experience with A/B experimentation and drawing conclusions from results.
- Ability to define success in terms of user outcomes and business metrics.
- Effective communication of technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
