Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and ship self-service and AI-assisted support features for Amazon Ads.
- Build and maintain APIs, Lambda functions, and event-driven workflows using DynamoDB, SQS, Step Functions, and ECS.
- Write clean, well-tested Java code and deliver it through Amazon’s CI/CD pipelines.
- Own software from local development through production, including debugging and resolving production issues.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into software.
- Support operational excellence through runbooks, dashboard monitoring, and on-call rotations.
- Apply Amazon’s internal frameworks and tools, including Coral, Brazil, Apollo, and Pipelines.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- At least 1 year of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 1 year of object-oriented design experience.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: 3 or more years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
