Responsibilities
- Maintain ownership and responsibility for mission-critical systems.
- Build high-volume platforms using technologies such as React and GraphQL.
- Mentor and coach other software engineers.
- Design and lead crucial technical projects and initiatives across teams and departments.
- Contribute to engineering practices and drive technical innovation and architectural change.
- Participate heavily in hiring and mentoring and help establish higher technical standards.
Requirements
- At least eight years of experience developing web applications with client-side frameworks such as React, Angular, or VueJS.
- A B.S. in Computer Science or a quantitative field is required; an M.S. is preferred.
- Strong HTML, CSS, object-oriented JavaScript, and TypeScript skills.
- Experience with analytics, A/B testing and/or feature flags, Continuous Delivery, and Trunk-based Development.
- Knowledge of scalable, resilient, highly available architectures and experience with large-scale systems.
- Knowledge of NoSQL technologies such as Cassandra, ScyllaDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, and DynamoDB.
- Experience with queueing systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, or Azure Service Bus.
- Experience with containers and Dockerization; Kubernetes experience is a plus.
- Strong client-side performance optimization, modern coding and design practices, and experience with front-end platforms including iOS, Android, web, and API services.
- Experience working with Big Data, global projects, distributed data centers, and localized front ends and data is valued.
- Experience leading teams and greenfield projects solving large system problems is valued.
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and English-language skills.
