Base Salary
$80k - $128k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain AI/ML-enabled applications and software components.
- Develop production-oriented software primarily in Python and integrate LLMs, AI APIs, and model-driven services.
- Build backend services, orchestration logic, data processing pipelines, and user-facing application features.
- Implement agentic AI workflows, intelligent orchestration patterns, and mission applications.
- Transition concepts and prototypes into reliable technical solutions in collaboration with internal Labs teams.
- Participate in architecture and technical tradeoff discussions and improve system performance, usability, and integrations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant applied software and AI/ML engineering experience.
- Strong software development experience with expertise in Python.
- Experience with at least one additional language such as C, C++, JavaScript, Go, or Java.
- Experience building and delivering technical software solutions in professional, research, or mission-oriented environments.
- Experience integrating LLMs through APIs and familiarity with model integration, orchestration, prompting, or agent-based systems.
- US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain FAA Public Trust suitability.
- Must be local to and willing to commute to Herndon, Virginia.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Anthropic Model Context Protocol, backend development, APIs, microservices, distributed applications, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, data processing pipelines, workflow automation, networking, and aviation or government technical environments.
