Base Salary
$170k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and improve backend systems that support DogByte and other internal products.
- Own projects from problem framing through production release, including technical design and testing.
- Partner with Product to understand user workflows and translate them into backend decisions.
- Collaborate with SRE and DevSecOps teams for safe and repeatable releases.
- Utilize AI tools for code generation, review, and problem-solving while ensuring quality.
- Review work across teams and provide technical feedback to enhance product stability.
Requirements
- Strong product judgment to make technical decisions based on real-world system usage.
- Proven backend ownership from ambiguous problems to production-ready solutions.
- Proactive approach to system reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
- Experience with AI-enabled skills and tools that enhance development workflows.
- Direct experience with Python, PostgreSQL, and AWS technologies.
- 5+ years in engineering environments with CI/CD and production quality ownership.
