Base Salary
$170k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and improve backend systems supporting DogByte and other internal products.
- Own projects from problem framing through technical design, sequencing, testing, rollout, and production follow-through.
- Partner with Product to translate hospital and internal team workflows into scalable backend solutions.
- Collaborate with SRE and DevSecOps on safe, repeatable releases and healthy production systems.
- Use AI tools thoughtfully for code generation, review, testing, documentation, and problem-solving.
- Review work across teams and provide technical feedback that improves quality, consistency, and product stability.
Requirements
- Strong backend ownership and the ability to guide ambiguous problems through production-ready solutions.
- Product judgment and the ability to make technical decisions based on real-world user workflows.
- A proactive approach to reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
- Experience building or configuring AI-enabled skills, tooling, workflows, or agents that improve development practices.
- Direct experience with Python, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
- At least 5 years in engineering environments where developers own code through release, including production quality practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and provide technical feedback across teams.
