Responsibilities
- Influence the team roadmap and personal career objectives.
- Deliver new features and iteratively improve them based on results and feedback.
- Drive projects from ideation through production operations and customer delivery.
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems with ownership of reliability, performance, and availability.
- Participate in on-call rotations and own the services operated by the team.
- Contribute to open-source projects beyond the immediate team’s scope.
- Support teammates, participate in design discussions, and collaborate in a fully remote environment.
- Develop a deeper understanding of Grafana Cloud, its customers, and a large distributed-system codebase.
Requirements
- Solid experience with at least one programming language, preferably Go or with transferable experience in Python, C, C++, Rust, or a similar language.
- Some experience delivering projects from requirements gathering and ideation through shipping to customers.
- Some experience developing cloud software or working in systems engineering.
- Experience writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software.
- Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker is a bonus.
- Experience using Grafana and Prometheus in operational or hobbyist environments is a bonus.
- Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems is a bonus.
- Familiarity with on-call work, operations/SRE tasks, or infrastructure as code is a bonus.
- Self-directed, pragmatic, collaborative, customer-focused, and strong in remote communication.
