Responsibilities
- Own service readiness, operational governance, non-functional requirements, runbooks, SOPs, and operational artefacts.
- Lead operational readiness reviews and confirm production standards and risk controls before release.
- Plan and test backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes against RTO and RPO targets.
- Operate monitoring, alerting, and observability to support incident response, major-incident triage, service restoration, root-cause analysis, and problem management.
- Manage vulnerability remediation and patching across Windows, Linux, and platform components while producing audit-ready evidence.
- Operate and improve GCP and Kubernetes/GKE services, including upgrades, node pools, add-ons, capacity, availability, and workload troubleshooting.
- Apply cloud controls across IAM, networking, logging, and monitoring.
- Automate operational checks, patch orchestration, reporting, and evidence capture using PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, and Python.
Requirements
- Substantial experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, cloud operations, SRE, or production support with strong incident, problem, and change-management discipline.
- Hands-on experience operating GCP infrastructure at scale, including IAM, networking, and observability.
- Strong Kubernetes experience, ideally with GKE, including cluster lifecycle management and troubleshooting.
- Strong Windows and Linux administration skills, including patching, troubleshooting, and operational hygiene.
- Experience building and maintaining automation with PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, and Python.
- Ability to produce clear operational documentation and support evidence suitable for audit and assurance.
- Experience delivering backup, restore, and disaster-recovery practices with testing and RTO/RPO validation.
- Experience supporting incident triage, root-cause analysis, and problem management while reducing recurring issues and alert noise.
