Responsibilities
- Develop end-to-end full-stack solutions across frontend and backend systems.
- Build scalable, secure RESTful APIs, backend services, and microservices.
- Develop and maintain high-performance React and Next.js applications, including server-side rendering and SEO-friendly web applications.
- Collaborate with UX and design teams to deliver consistent, intuitive, accessible, and responsive user experiences.
- Manage application deployments across Dev, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
- Provide rotational or on-demand production support to maintain system stability and resolve issues quickly.
- Maintain high test coverage across unit, integration, and UI tests and enforce quality gates.
- Participate in code reviews and follow coding standards, architectural guidelines, and engineering best practices.
- Use and promote AI-assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and productivity.
- Suggest and implement solutions for security, scalability, high availability, and performance.
- Collaborate with technical leads, product owners, architects, developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders on complex technical initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of engineering experience.
- Significant experience with Java, preferably Spring Boot, React, and Next.js.
- Experience designing and building scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Knowledge of server-side rendering, static site generation, API-driven development, web performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design.
- Experience delivering applications from concept and architecture through development and production deployment.
- Understanding of MVC, MVVM, layered, microservices, and event-driven architectural approaches.
- Experience with authentication and authorization using OAuth, JWT, and SSO.
- Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and observability tools.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or comparable database technologies.
- Proficiency with Git and experience with unit, integration, UI, and test automation practices.
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or ChatGPT, with responsible handling of generated code and confidential information.
- Strong communication, collaboration, attention to detail, and ability to align multiple stakeholders.
- US insurance domain experience, including group benefits, billing, claims, or enrollment, is an advantage.
- Familiarity with MetLife, Sun Life, or similar insurer platforms and processes is a strong advantage.
