Base Salary
$188k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the long-term technical strategy and architecture for the Developer Experience platform.
- Solve complex developer productivity problems across teams and operate solutions reliably across more than 40 data centers.
- Lead the technical architecture of the agentic developer platform, including MCP servers, tool integration, and agent-accessible Developer Experience APIs.
- Drive cross-team technical initiatives across Developer Experience, infrastructure, security, SRE, and product engineering.
- Mentor and develop Senior II engineers while raising technical decision-making standards across the team.
- Identify technical debt, reliability gaps, and systemic risks, and deliver durable improvements to resilience, efficiency, and developer trust.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience building and owning production developer platforms, build infrastructure, or large-scale distributed systems.
- Ability to define and execute multi-year technical strategies across complex, cross-team domains.
- Deep systems design expertise spanning correctness, scalability, maintainability, API design, service architecture, and platform abstractions.
- Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar languages with experience shipping large-scale production services in cloud-native environments.
- Platform-level expertise in Kubernetes and infrastructure as code, including the Kubernetes scheduler, API machinery, and extension points.
- Experience with or strong leadership interest in AI-native developer tooling, agentic frameworks, LLM-integrated developer workflows, or autonomous software development agents.
- Ability to influence organization-level technical decisions, align teams with competing priorities, and communicate clearly with engineering leadership.
- Track record of mentoring senior engineers and strengthening technical teams.
- Preferred experience with large-scale CI, build and test systems, Bazel, Buildkite, remote execution, caching, GitOps, ArgoCD, artifact storage and distribution, or ephemeral development environments.
- Preferred experience designing and operating progressive delivery systems at scale, including SLO-based quality gates, automated multi-stage pipeline orchestration, and custom Kubernetes operators.
- Preferred experience architecting and deploying agentic systems at scale, including MCP servers, agent governance models, or tool-augmented LLM workflows.
- Prior experience as a technical lead or system architect on a platform or infrastructure team with broad engineering organization impact.
