Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a self-service internal DBaaS platform using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Deploy and operate highly available PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, MongoDB, and Redis clusters across bare metal, OpenNebula, Kubernetes, and public clouds.
  • Scale ClickHouse clusters, including sharding, table-engine optimization, replication, and S3 backup pipelines.
  • Maintain infrastructure supporting Apache Airflow, Redash, ETL pipelines, and analytics workflows.
  • Implement SRE practices, automated self-healing, database SLOs, and SLIs.
  • Lead migrations from legacy database solutions to modern cloud and Kubernetes-based patterns.
  • Provide technical guidance on data schemas and SQL query optimization for high-load systems.
  • Serve as a technical authority and mentor for product teams.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of PostgreSQL experience, including MVCC internals, locking, Patroni, PgBouncer, and major-version upgrades under load.
  • Strong experience operating large ClickHouse clusters, including ZooKeeper or ClickHouse Keeper, sharding, replication internals, and data-part performance diagnostics.
  • Mandatory experience writing complex Terraform modules and Ansible roles.
  • Programming experience in Python or Go for infrastructure automation is strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating databases across bare metal, Kubernetes, and cloud environments, including NVMe and network storage optimization.
  • Understanding of security, FIPS, audit logs, disaster recovery, and end-to-end systems architecture.
  • Upper-intermediate or higher English proficiency.
  • Experience building an Internal Developer Platform is desirable.
  • Experience operating databases in Kubernetes with CloudNativePG or Altinity Operator is desirable.
  • Experience working for cloud or hosting providers on similar services is desirable.
  • Openness to using AI agents such as Claude, Codex, and Gemini in engineering workflows.
