Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, install, and support application systems and programs.
- Analyze and interpret code to identify system enhancements, vulnerabilities, and security issues.
- Design programming solutions using Java and related application development technologies.
- Test and debug applications and resolve issues using acquired technical experience.
- Consult with users, clients, and technology groups regarding application issues and solutions.
- Advise or coach new and lower-level analysts.
- Operate with limited supervision and exercise independent judgment while managing risk and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry.
- Intermediate-level experience in an applications development role.
- Bachelor’s degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Strong Java proficiency and understanding of the Java ecosystem.
- Experience with Spring Boot and other Spring frameworks.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, web services, SQL, relational databases, Git, object-oriented programming, and Maven or Gradle.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or changing requirements.
- Preferred: familiarity with Docker or OpenShift and experience with CI/CD pipelines or build tools.
