Responsibilities
- Define and govern system design principles, reference architectures, engineering patterns, and standards for AI/ML, generative AI, RAG, and agentic systems.
- Lead complex architecture, coding, troubleshooting, design-remediation, integration, and delivery challenges across multiple teams.
- Own end-to-end architecture for strategic AI initiatives, including service boundaries, orchestration, data contracts, evaluation, observability, resilience, security, and operational guardrails.
- Define enterprise API and integration strategies, including contract design, versioning, security, idempotency, reliability, and decoupling of consumers from internal AI service topology.
- Lead large project and program delivery outcomes by aligning architecture, engineering execution, governance, risks, dependencies, and quality.
- Shape platform strategy, technical roadmaps, investment decisions, and reusable AI platform capabilities across teams and client engagements.
- Establish model evaluation, benchmarking, experimentation, rollout-control, production-quality, safety, compliance, and auditability practices.
- Partner with senior Engineering, Architecture, Product, Data, Security, Operations, and engagement leaders.
- Mentor senior engineers and technical leads and raise standards for system design, technical depth, delivery rigor, and architectural decision-making.
- Use AI-assisted software engineering tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent agentic coding platforms.
Requirements
- 10+ years of applied engineering experience, including extensive senior AI/ML engineering, architecture, or complex technology-delivery experience.
- Advanced hands-on engineering expertise in Python and the ability to guide implementation and architecture decisions across senior engineering teams.
- Deep knowledge of open-source and commercial foundation models and experience evaluating model suitability, trade-offs, and total cost of ownership.
- Experience architecting enterprise knowledge AI systems involving foundation-model management, agentic design, AI application integration, NLP, and multimodal systems.
- Expertise in enterprise agentic AI frameworks, multi-agent orchestration, tool-use patterns, memory architecture, and LLM operations.
- Experience with enterprise-scale AI platforms, APIs, containers, integration standards, data security, privacy, compliance, model monitoring, observability, and responsible AI.
- Experience advising on AI platform strategy, vendor evaluation, build-versus-operate decisions, platform modernization, and infrastructure for model training and inference.
- Ability to communicate complex AI architecture concepts to executive, technical, and non-technical audiences and translate strategy into engineering roadmaps.
- Familiarity with LLM safety and alignment, multimodal and vision-language models, small language models, financial-services AI regulations, enterprise data architecture, GPU-accelerated workloads, and AI-assisted software engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; an MBA or MS is also preferred.
- Prior consulting experience is a plus.
