Responsibilities
- Own and architect end-to-end ML/AI solutions and integrate models into business applications.
- Lead small to medium-sized ML initiatives and coordinate cross-team implementation with Engineering and Product Managers.
- Optimize machine learning solutions through best practices, code reviews, mentorship, and improvements to performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, scientists, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and align objectives.
- Create workflows, ensure timely delivery, and represent the Science team in Operations meetings.
- Mentor colleagues and promote technical excellence and ethical AI practices.
Requirements
- More than 8 years of overall industry experience and more than 5 years working with AI/ML solutions.
- Expert-level coding proficiency and experience leading the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models.
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, Scikit-learn, Spark ML, Git, and MLflow.
- Proficiency in at least one of named entity recognition and ontology, document search using BM25/vector search/re-rankers, or recommendation systems including collaborative filtering, content-based and hybrid approaches, two-tower architecture, and learning-to-rank.
- Experience with Azure, Databricks, Spark, and Pandas.
- Hands-on experience fine-tuning BERT, RoBERTa, LegalBERT, and DeBERTa using HuggingFace, PEFT, and LoRA.
- Ability to architect and design end-to-end ML solutions and lead ML/AI initiatives from concept to completion.
- Preferred experience includes legal-domain NLP applications, AI/ML certifications, advanced use of AI tools, ethical AI practices, and mentoring.
- A Ph.D. degree in ML is highly preferred.
