Responsibilities
- Define and maintain cross-portfolio reference architectures for distributed systems, microservices, cybersecurity platforms, and middleware.
- Derive reference architectures for individual products and produce Software Architecture Documents, Software Design Documents, and Interface Design Descriptions.
- Own formal architectural decisions, participate as technical decision-maker in product design reviews, and approve architectural baselines.
- Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and middleware while balancing innovation, technical risk, maintainability, standards, and security requirements.
- Integrate security-by-design patterns covering authentication, authorization, encryption, isolation, and defence in depth.
- Apply STRIDE or equivalent threat-modeling principles and validate architecture against security and non-functional requirements.
- Maintain architectural guidelines, Architecture Decision Records, pattern catalogs, and technology radars while supporting the technical maturity of development teams.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field; a master's degree is preferred.
- 5–8 years of experience in software architecture, system design, or Technical Authority roles in complex software environments, preferably in defense, security, or critical systems.
- Strong knowledge of distributed software architectures, including microservices, SOA, event-driven architecture, CQRS, and API gateways.
- Ability to produce complete UML/SysML architectural models and structured architectural views using C4 Model, 4+1 View, or ArchiMate.
- Deep understanding of security-by-design principles and experience applying them to complex cybersecurity software architectures.
- Knowledge of performance, scalability, high availability, resilience, and compliance requirements and their design-time analysis and verification.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture patterns including Hexagonal Architecture, Clean Architecture, DDD, and CQRS.
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-498, DI-IPSC, CRA EU 2024/2847, and ISO/IEC 25010.
- Fluent English for international technical documentation, standards, partners, and customers.
- Experience with Enterprise Architect, Cameo Systems Modeler/MagicDraw, ArchiMate or TOGAF-compliant tools, Structurizr, GitLab, OpenText DM, Confluence, and JIRA or equivalent tools.
- Strong technical authority, communication, stakeholder-management, and architectural trade-off skills.
- Willingness to travel for design reviews, architecture boards, customer support, and strategic programs.
- TOGAF Foundation/Practitioner or AWS/Azure Certified Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
