Base Salary
$125k - $145k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform, including EC2, ECS, ECR, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, EKS, and CloudFront.
- Design and improve GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines with security scanning, policy enforcement, and quality gates.
- Identify and remediate cloud misconfigurations using GuardDuty, Security Hub, Config, SCPs, and related security practices.
- Define SLOs, improve observability and alerting, lead blameless post-mortems, and own production incidents through resolution and follow-up.
- Maintain development build and release environments and develop automation and test tooling for client applications.
- Evaluate DevOps technologies through proof-of-concept testing and keep documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams current.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, conduct architecture and code reviews, and establish engineering standards.
- Lead cross-functional infrastructure projects and communicate platform strategy, risk, and investment tradeoffs to executive leadership.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of hands-on DevOps or SRE experience, including at least five years operating production AWS workloads at scale.
- BA/BS in Engineering or Computer Science preferred, with equivalent experience accepted.
- AWS Professional-level certification such as Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Professional preferred.
- Deep Terraform expertise and experience writing modular, reusable, well-tested infrastructure code.
- Strong GitHub Actions experience, including integrated SAST, secrets detection, and container image scanning; Jenkins experience is a plus.
- Hands-on cloud security experience with GuardDuty, Security Hub, Config, SCPs, and related tools and practices.
- Strong scripting and automation skills with Python, Go, or Bash.
- Linux system administration and container management experience with Docker; Windows Server and Windows container experience is a plus.
- Experience defining SLOs, designing observability solutions, and improving reliability through post-mortems.
- Familiarity with cross-platform compilation for Windows and macOS, code signing, and software supply chain security.
- Daily use of AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot is expected.
- Ability to operate at principal or staff engineer level, influence architecture across teams, make decisions through ambiguity, and raise engineering quality.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, mentorship, and executive communication experience.
