Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end system design, including low-level design, API contracts, and data modeling.
- Build, release, and operate scalable backend APIs, GenAI services, and multi-agent infrastructure.
- Create reusable, extensible, and self-service platform capabilities for internal product and ML teams.
- Partner with use-case, AI Registry, LLM Inference, product, applied science, and engineering teams.
- Define guardrails and grading standards for AI agents, MCP servers, and skills covering quality, safety, reliability, and production readiness.
- Design intelligent routing patterns, open-weight model deployments, and fine-tuning pipelines.
- Track reliability, performance, adoption, and operating-cost metrics while ensuring testing, security, observability, and operational readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience building and operating backend services and APIs through deployment and ongoing support.
- Proficiency in Python and production-grade web services using FastAPI or similar frameworks such as Flask or Django.
- Strong understanding of system design, API design, and data modeling.
- Experience operating backend APIs in public or hybrid cloud environments, with exposure to AWS or similar services and at least one relational, NoSQL, or search data store.
- Familiarity with AI-driven systems and applying AI/ML concepts to products, including LLM capabilities, embeddings, or RAG patterns.
- Preferred experience with high-scale Python backend APIs, performance tuning, resilience patterns, and multi-tenant services.
- Preferred hands-on experience with RAG, vector stores, LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, LangSmith, Langfuse, Elasticsearch vector search, and Aurora PostgreSQL schemas.
- Preferred experience building internal platforms, SDKs, or shared services adopted by multiple product teams.
- Preferred experience designing workflow and agent orchestration solutions using tools such as n8n or Flowise.
