Base Salary
$93k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable streaming platform components, including gateways, ingestion and delivery paths, and partition-routing services.
- Own platform features and bounded components through requirements, design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- Debug and resolve production and customer issues using logs, metrics, tracing, and root cause analysis.
- Optimize latency, throughput, capacity, scalability, and resource utilization in distributed cloud systems.
- Implement API versioning, lifecycle, interoperability, resilience, testing, observability, and secure coding practices.
- Lead code reviews, contribute to software architecture decisions, and provide technical guidance and mentorship.
- Improve reliability and automation through operational tooling, maintenance, patching, and CI/CD enhancements.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Java and Python.
- Experience with distributed systems, scalable cloud services, and low-latency performance optimization.
- Experience building request-handling layers, gateways, network-facing services, or similar platform components.
- Knowledge of asynchronous and event-driven frameworks such as Netty and Vert.x.
- Ability to troubleshoot moderately complex software, API, integration, and production issues using logs, metrics, and tracing.
- Ability to independently manage work, collaborate across teams, and communicate with customers and stakeholders.
- Experience with software testing, observability, performance profiling, secure coding, and reliability practices.
