Responsibilities
- Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules for GCP infrastructure, including networking, data, identity, security, and storage services.
- Provision and operate Development, Test, and Production environments using Infrastructure as Code, remote state, policy controls, and drift detection.
- Build and manage Cloud Build pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, data quality rules, semantic models, testing, and deployment.
- Automate unit, integration, infrastructure, and data-quality testing gates and non-production environment refreshes with PII masking or tokenisation.
- Configure Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, dashboards, SLA monitoring, and failure alerts.
- Implement cloud security hardening, infrastructure-level penetration-test remediation, IAM and key-management controls, and secrets management.
- Implement FinOps controls including billing exports, budgets, alerts, resource labelling, and cost reporting.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, DataOps, or similar roles.
- At least 3 years of hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience and experience supporting production-grade cloud or enterprise data platforms.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, security, CI/CD, observability, and multi-environment management.
- Hands-on expertise with GCP, Terraform module design, remote state, environment management, policy-as-code, Cloud Build, Python, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, GCP networking, IAM, KMS, Secret Manager, VPC Service Controls, Cloud Logging, and Cloud Monitoring.
- Experience with automated testing and deployment gates for data pipelines, Git workflows, code reviews, branch protection, tagged releases, rollback, Docker, Cloud Run, and GKE.
- At least one of the Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer certifications is required.
- Preferred qualifications include Cloud Composer, Dataplex, Datastream, Kubernetes, Cloud Interconnect, hybrid networking, data masking, tokenisation, PII protection, FinOps, Power BI, penetration-test remediation, cloud security hardening, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, HashiCorp Terraform Associate certification, and Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification.
